US Bankcard Services, Inc. (USBSI), a leading nationwide Merchant Services Provider, has donated $5,000 to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride for Kids® program.
City of Industry, Calif. (PRWEB) February 26, 2010 – In a generous show of goodwill, US Bankcard Services, Inc. donated $5,000 to the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride for Kids® program. As a leading nationwide Merchant Services Provider (MSP), the company is honored to be able to do its part in helping children whose lives have adversely been affected by brain tumors.
Through its Ride for Kids® program, the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation brings together the families and doctors of young patients to give them the chance to be “just a kid,” if only for a day, through various motorcycle rides that take place across the country. The proceeds raised by the Ride for Kids® program go directly to research for finding the cause of and a cure childhood brain tumors.
Prior to the founding of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation in 1991, being diagnosed with the disease almost always meant that a child’s life would be tragically cut short. However, thanks in part to the efforts of organizations like the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, as well as generous donations from companies like U. S. Bankcard Services, Inc., that reality is no longer necessarily the case as a result of increased public awareness and focus on the affliction.
For Chris Chang, founder and CEO of US Bankcard Services, Inc., the decision to make the charitable contribution was an easy one to make. “As someone who has personally seen how crippling the effects of this disease can be on someone close to you,” he said, “I felt it was important to do whatever I could to try to ensure others wouldn’t have to go through the ordeal my friend and his family had to.” Mr. Chang further commented that the employees of his company were proud to be able to contribute to something larger than themselves.
Dianne Traynor, the president of the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation, noted that the support of Mr. Chang and US Bankcard Services, Inc. was deeply appreciated, and noted that “every dollar we receive is a symbol of hope for families [concerned for] their child’s healthy future.”
